Pastor Wayne & Judy Clark
Pastor R. Wayne Clark (P C) has served in ministry since 1968. He married his wife, Judy, on July 9th, 1971. They have four children, Stacy, Donice, Rob and Cory. They have 14 Grandchildren and love being with their family as often as possible. They have pastored churches in Ohio, Vermont, California and San Antonio, Texas Pastor R. Wayne Clark, (P C) along with his wife, Judy has served as Pastor of First Assembly of God since the spring of 1996. P C has a strong belief in the importance of family. He places high priority on Children’s and Youth Ministries. Pastor Clark is an advocate of discipleship and believes his Biblical mandate is to lead people to Christ-like, spiritual maturity. He also believes people must experience God’s Presence, receive His love and grace as well as learning the unmatched joy of living in obedience to His Word. Pastor Clark believes that missions, both home and abroad, are a vital necessity for any fellowship. “You cannot be close to God and not feel His heart for a broken and lost world”. He has traveled to 62 different countries, most of which Judy has traveled with him. PC loves and is so thankful for the quality pastoral staff God has graciously given this church. He says: “A Senior or Lead pastor is no better that those who serve with him.” Judy has served as a chaplain at the Bexar County Family Justice Center for over 10 years, where she counsels and works with victims of domestic violence. Wayne enjoys his marriage, family and Pastoral ministry. He likes the outdoors, especially Fishing, Hunting and Golf.
Joel & Sabrina Garza
Student Ministries PastorPastor Joel attended Christ for the Nations in Dallas, Texas and is a veteran of youth ministry that has a passion for the local church, nation, and world and has been involved with ministries that have impacted all three arena’s. Pastor Joel’s ministry is marked by passion, humor, and authenticity as he reaches out to youth and partners with parents to see this generation come to experience God and discover His great plans for their lives. Pastor Joel also serves as the Youth Coach to youth pastors in the San Antonio section for the Assemblies of God and also serves as Lead Facilitator for “UNITE” fellowship that gathers youth & young adults for training, encouragement, and city-wide unity among Next-gen workers across denominational lines. However, Pastor Joel’s greatest accomplishments are being married to the love of his life Sabrina for the past fifteen years and sharing life with their three children: Chase, Brianna, and Noah.
Trey & Amy Wilborn
Pastor Trey and Amy and their daughter, Reese, are our Children’s Pastors. They enjoy teaching, connecting and seeing spiritual growth happen in the lives of kids. Pastor Trey has an affinity for tacos and iced coffee; but never concurrently.
Michael & Kandy Meyer
Executive Pastor and Singles Pastor
Mike and Kandy joined the staff of First Assembly in the summer of 2000. Mike’s portfolio contains the areas of church administrator and singles ministry. As administrator he has oversight of finances, and all church resources including facility and transportation needs. He also has pastoral leadership responsibilities over the singles ministry where his and Kandy’s leadership team focuses on the five simple yet purposeful characteristics of: faithfulness, obedience, character, unity, and service. His passions include teaching and serving.
Everett & Ruth Ann Forner
Second Half of Life Pastor
Everett and RuthAnn Forner have served as Assemblies of God pastors since 1967. They have served as Pastor of Second Half of Life Ministries at San Antonio’s First Assembly for the past nine years. Over the years their pastoral ministry has included churches both small and large. Much of their ministry has been to church’s struggling with the changes facing the church in the world today. In addition to their pastoral leadership Pastor Everett also served as Director of Christian Education and Men’s Ministry for the Indiana District of the Assemblies of God. Pastor Forner most recently pastored Cathedral in The Pines in Beaumont Texas. During their years of ministry to troubled congregations, Everett received certification as a mediator/arbitrator with the national “Peace Keepers” organization in Billings, Montana. This ministry, along with their pastoral ministry, has given him numerous opportunities to teach and minister in various countries around the world. The Forner’s years of ministry and experiences has culminated, under the leading of the Holy Spirit, in a growing burden and desire for ministry to the special needs and challenges of those transitioning into life’s second half. The Forner’s have three grown children and four grandchildren. They will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in May of 2016.
Sam & Esther Matta
Pastor Sam & Esther Matta faithfully serve as our Visitation Pastors bringing prayer and comfort to those who can’t make it to our regularly scheduled services. Pastor Sam has served as a Deputy Sheriff and a Deputy Constable before being elected as a Justice of the Peace where he served for 20 years. He has been married to his wife, Esther, since September of 1964 and they have two children.
